Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager with 15+ years of expertise to lead and strategically guide our software and data engineering teams. In this senior leadership role, you will oversee the delivery of cutting-edge software and data engineering projects that support global operations, including supply chain, manufacturing, and R&D functions. The ideal candidate will be providing visionary leadership, building, and managing large teams, and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and expand large, diverse teams of data engineers, and data operations engineers to deliver high-impact data engineering solutions that drive business outcomes.
  • Strategically grow the team by recruiting, developing, and retaining talent that matches the high-caliber level ensuring that the team scales while maintaining top-tier performance.
  • Define and implement a long-term strategic roadmap for data and engineering functions, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, operations, IT, and business stakeholders, to understand requirements and across multiple functions (e.g., Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing, R&D, IT) to define project priorities, drive consensus, and ensure that engineering efforts support organizational goals.
  • Lead and oversee complex, high-value projects with a focus on scaling data engineering and operations capabilities and improving operational efficiency across data platform.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize processes for project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and performance monitoring, ensuring alignment with best practices in engineering and data management.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of data solutions, ensuring that they meet the highest standards for performance, scalability, and security.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by staying abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies in software and data engineering, and proactively introducing innovations to enhance the team's capabilities.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, partners, and service providers, ensuring timely delivery of contracted services and solutions.
  • Monitor project risks, issues, and dependencies, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to minimize project disruptions and delays.
  • Provide regular project status updates, reports, and metrics to senior leadership, highlighting key achievements, milestones, and areas for improvement.

Preferred Experience/Education/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field; a master’s degree or MBA is highly preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience leading large-scale software and data engineering teams within a global, matrixed organization. Experience in life sciences, healthcare, or a regulated industry is preferred.
  • Deep domain expertise in global operations, supply chain, manufacturing, and R&D processes within the life sciences sector, including a strong understanding of industry-specific challenges, regulatory environments, and data compliance requirements.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget, particularly those supporting global operations (e.g., manufacturing, supply chain).
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams across various geographic locations, with a focus on team development, scaling operations, and driving strategic outcomes.
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture, big data frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop), and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure).
  • Strong understanding of modern data engineering development methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, and microservices architectures, with experience optimizing engineering workflows and processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and guide teams through complex challenges.
  • Experienced in project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence and Certifications such as PMP, Agile, or equivalent is highly desired.

  • Platforms - Snowflake/Data Bricks, AWS etc.
  • Engineering – dBT, Spark, Data Bricks, Python,KAfka etc.
  • Data/DevOps – GitHub Action, Git, Jira, Confluence, Splunk, Airflow, Control-M, DataDog etc.
  • Analytics – PowerB.I, Tableau etc.
  • AI/ML/GenAI Platform awareness
