What you will be doing:
- Lead a team of highly talented and motivated AI engineers, with a focus on mentoring, coaching, and career development.
- Lead the design, development and deployment of AI/ML solutions and models that solve complex business problems.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, collect, clean, prepare data for machine learning and translate them into AI/ML solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the team members, promoting best practices and innovation.
- Conduct in-depth research, stay current with the latest advancements in AI/ML, and apply new findings to solve complex problems.
- Develop and maintain scalable, production-ready code for AI models, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Implement and maintain data pipelines, preprocess data, and ensure data quality for machine learning tasks.
- Work on model optimization and scalability to handle large datasets and high throughput requirements.
- Be one of Monotype’s voices in the technology and research community, in conferences and events.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- 8-12 years of hands-on experience in AI and ML engineering.
- Proven experience in managing and leading a team of up to 10 AI engineers.
- Proficiency in deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and experience with model training and deployment.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex AI/ML projects from research to production.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work on open-ended, ambiguous problems.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong understanding of computer vision, natural language processing, and other AI-related domains.
- Published research papers or contributions to the AI/ML community is a significant advantage.
- This position is primarily hands-on, with a focus on designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML solutions, conducting research, and maintaining code and data pipelines in addition to the management component, involving providing technical mentorship to junior team members and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
