WHAT YOU'LL DO
As Legal Counsel your role is to support, guide and protect the H&M Group in relation to leases and other legal contracts as well as in other legal issues that arise.
You negotiate, draft and review property documents and various other agreements. You set and enforce legal standards, templates and strategies and conduct judicial enquiries, risk assessments and due diligence. You collaborate with the relevant stakeholders to ensure we get the best possible deal both legally and commercially.
- Ensure due diligence of projects. To act as gatekeeper to the company’s interests by safeguarding it through robust legal mechanisms – whether transactional structuring, clearances from authorities or financial mitigation etc.
- To deal with various statutory, regulatory, government and judicial authorities for seeking approvals to mitigate risks.
- Carry out negotiation, finalization and registration of contracts (including stamp duty), liaising continually with commercial and legal representatives of counterparts.
- Oversee legal defense actions; prevention and management of litigations including filing of notice of breach, tracking notifications etc.
- To keep the organization updated and in line with relevant regulatory developments.

You will collaborate with the Expansion team colleagues including Lease Managers and Legal Counsels.
WHO YOU ARE
To be successful in the role of Legal Counsel - Expansion, we believe you are comfortable making decisions and efficient in resolving situations with conflicting interests. You dare to speak your mind and have strong sense of integrity and rational thinking. In addition we believe you have the below skills:
- A formal education within Legal curriculum is mandatory , LLB or LLM. ,with at least 5 years of working experience in an external law firm or as in-house Legal Counsel with focus on real estate law
- Knowledge of other areas such as employment law, company law and general contract law would be meriting
- A growth mindset; Open and embrace change with high attention to detail
- Strong initiative and a problem solving mindset with an organized and structured way of working
- Team player who understands collaboration is key to achieving business goals
