Basic Function

Wolters Kluwer is seeking a motivated and talented Lead Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with hands-on experience in a mature software engineering and a DevOps environment to further develop their skills and make a meaningful impact within a forward-thinking organization. As a Lead Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering team, contributing to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of our enterprise applications and cloud platforms.

In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with various stakeholders, including our experienced engineering team, Cloud Operations, Security, Compliance, and other key partners. Your primary focus will be on engineering practices to streamline our software development processes, enhance efficiency, and ensure the reliability and scalability of our cloud platform. You will gain hands-on experience with a variety of DevSecOps tools and application and platform technologies, helping to build and maintain our continuous integration and delivery pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated deployment processes.

You will be involved in a wide range of tasks, including application and platform automation, infrastructure management, monitoring, and performance optimization. Your foundational understanding of application and platform engineering concepts, practices, and tools will be critical as you contribute to the implementation of best practices and the optimization of our platform workflows. Experience Range: 10 to 17 Yrs

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and Engineer scalable and reliable enterprise software systems.
  • Define and implement best practices in coding and software development.
  • Lead the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of platforms.
  • Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, operations, QA, etc.).
  • Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders including executives.
  • Implement and manage Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Develop scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency.
  • Ensure software and platforms comply with security standards and regulations.
  • Implement security best practices and conduct regular security assessments.
  • Adhere to access controls and protect sensitive data.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Document processes, procedures, and infrastructure setups.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Continuously improve systems, processes, and methodologies.
  • Participate in agile / scrum project planning and execution.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Understand customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and refine requirements.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through reliable and high-quality deliverables.
  • Explore and integrate generative AI technologies to enhance software capabilities.
  • Develop and deploy AI models for automated content generation and predictive analytics.

Experience & SKILLS REQUIRED


Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 year of experience with AI and Generative AI technologies
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Azure Cloud / platform engineering, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of software development experience in either Python or C# (Other language proficiency may be considered)
  • Proficient in database technologies to support both front end and back end development scenarios.
  • Professional Software development certification (PSD), Azure / Cloud Certification or relevant experience
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation tasks and infrastructure management.
  • In-depth knowledge of programming frameworks (e.g., .NET, JAVA) and application development.
  • Extensive experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) management, including writing and maintaining modules.
  • Comprehensive experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), including designing and implementing cloud services and architectures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment, ensuring application / platform reliability and scalability.
