The Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements
- Identify and analyze issues, make recommendations, and implement solutions
- Utilize knowledge of business processes, system processes, and industry standards to solve complex issues
- Analyze information and make evaluative judgements to recommend solutions and improvements
- Conduct testing and debugging, utilize script tools, and write basic code for design specifications
- Assess applicability of similar experiences and evaluate options under circumstances not covered by procedures
- Develop working knowledge of Citi’s information systems, procedures, standards, client server application development, network operations, database administration, systems administration, data center operations, and PC-based applications
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of relevant experience
- Experience in programming/debugging used in business applications
- Working knowledge of industry practice and standards
- Comprehensive knowledge of specific business area for application development
- Working knowledge of program languages
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Our Java technocrats develops and manage next generation of financial products leveraging their full stack skills to create robust and scalable platforms that can source and process huge amount of data to produce near Realtime output to support wide set of complex business processes. They also are often required to integrate their platform with globally distributed applications which at times also requires them to learn and leverage many messaging/open source/cloud technologies.
At times they may also directly interact with business users to develop, demonstrate, and improve the platform in an agile fashion.

Detail Role Specifications & Requirements
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience in design and development of enterprise grade software using Java/J2EE technologies coupled with skill on
- An industry standard Java certification would be definite plus
Technical / Functional Proficiency:
- Strong Experience developing in Core Java
- experience in front End Technologies like Angular or React and Java Framework like Spring Boot
- Knowledge in Oops concepts, Servlet, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Knowledge in Rest webservices, Soap webservices and oracle database
- Good understanding of RDBMS concepts and working experience with any DB
- Experience with any messaging technology JMS/IBM MQ/Kafka would be definite plus
- Experience on build Tools Maven, Ant and other SDLC tools such as Sonar and Jenkins is good to have
Leadership Skills:
- Demonstrated sense of responsibility and capability to deliver quickly
- Attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
- Excellent communication skills, clearly articulating and documenting technical and functional specifications is a key requirement.
