Intern - Design
(Based at MAS Fabric – Matrix - Thulhiriya)
MAS Matrix, is a diversified flat-knit apparel manufacturing facility under MAS Holdings. Matrix houses 1000 Stoll flatbed machines offerings athleisure wear, performance wear, essentials and knit components for global brands such as Nike, Decathlon, Gymshark, Lacoste, Victoria's Secret and Stoko. Changing business dynamics prompted Matrix to explore innovative product solutions that go beyond the traditional realm of sweaters, launching its latest product platform, MVTM, a collection of highly functional, versatile, and fashion-forward designs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the design team in developing flat knit garment concepts based on buyer briefs and trend direction
Support creation of technical flat sketches and design details using Adobe Illustrator
Help prepare tech packs including measurements, stitch details, yarn information, and trims
Work closely with development, sampling, and technical teams to support sample development
Assist in yarn, stitch, and color selection for flat knit programs
Support development of knit swatches and prototypes in coordination with machine operators
Participate in sample reviews, fit sessions, and design corrections
Maintain accurate design documentation and sample records
Assist in trend research, mood boards, and seasonal presentations
Support execution of buyer presentations and internal design reviews
Follow MAS quality, sustainability, and compliance standards throughout the design process
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in in Fashion Design, Apparel Technology, Textile Design,
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Experience using design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Teamwork and coordination skills
- Basic understanding of business development and customer handling
