Garment Technologist
(Based at Silueta, Biyagama)

Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining the Silueta team as a Garment Technologist. We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to ensure timely resolving of all technical issues encountered during the product development process pertaining to a portfolio of customers and be available to address all technical issues detected during bulk manufacturing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare operation breakdowns, assess machinery needs, and set quality standards to support sample development and ensure bulk production meets customer requirements.
- Conduct pre‑production meetings to align teams on customer quality standards before bulk production.
- Coordinate with customers to clarify fit‑related issues and communicate all comments to designers and pattern technologists for accurate execution.
- Work with designers and pattern makers to conduct fitting sessions and ensure all garments meet buyer specifications.
- Develop and maintain technical specification packages covering fit, construction, and pre‑production requirements.
- Provide technical support to Design, Pre‑Production, Merchandising, IE, and Production teams, including guidance on fabric and trims.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to set product performance standards using lab tests, wash tests, and wear tests.
- Manage adherence to the time‑and‑action calendar during the pre‑production process.
- Drive technical improvements in fit, construction, quality, and cost to support first‑to‑market initiatives.
- Finalize artwork feasibility with customers, coordinate artwork modifications, and prepare print positives for screen creation.
- Provide technical comments to customers and determine printing recipes, methods, mesh types, dryer temperatures, and DRF instructions.
- Communicate machinery needs and printing categories to planning teams and identify feasible bulk‑printing methods.
- Prepare tech packs and define required quality levels for the printing process.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Degree in Textile Engineering
- 1-2 years of work experience in a similar field
