Position OverviewAs a Front End Engineer at Paladin Drones, you will be responsible for building intuitive, performant, and visually engaging user interfaces that power our web applications and real-time drone monitoring platforms. You will collaborate closely with design, product, and backend engineering teams to craft tools that enable first responders to access mission-critical drone data quickly and reliably.
Responsibilities- UI Development: Design and implement modern, responsive user interfaces using React (preferred) with TypeScript/JavaScript. Familiarity with frameworks like Next.js, Angular, or Vue is a plus.
- Real-Time Dashboards: Build interactive dashboards for real-time telemetry, video streaming (WebRTC, HLS), and geospatial data visualization (Mapbox, Leaflet, CesiumJS).
- State & Data Management: Implement efficient data-fetching and state management using tools such as Redux, Zustand, or React Query (TanStack Query).
- API Integration: Consume and integrate REST and GraphQL APIs to deliver real-time drone telemetry, video, and mission-critical data.
- Performance Optimization: Ensure smooth rendering, optimize for high-volume IoT data streams, and apply performance tuning techniques.
- UI/UX Collaboration: Work closely with designers to translate wireframes and prototypes into production-ready UI components with pixel-perfect execution.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Write robust unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code reliability and scalability.
- Development Practices: Drive continuous improvement of development workflows, tooling, and front-end architecture, including use of modern build tools like Vite.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with backend, data, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end features and solutions.
- Security & Compliance: Implement secure coding practices and ensure compliance with SOC2, GDPR, and other relevant standards.
- Documentation: Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for UI components, APIs, and workflows.
Required:
- 3+ years of professional experience in front-end development building modern web applications.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
- Deep expertise in React (preferred). Experience with Angular or Vue is also valuable.
- Hands-on experience with state management (Redux, Zustand, or similar).
- Experience with real-time data handling (WebSockets, SignalR, or similar).
- Experience consuming REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Solid understanding of responsive design principles and accessibility standards.
- Proficiency with version control (GitHub) and CI/CD workflows.
Preferred:
- Experience leading complex projects and mentoring other engineers.
- Expertise in GraphQL query optimization and advanced usage.
- Hands-on experience with Vite and front-end build/optimization tools.
- Familiarity with geospatial visualization libraries (Mapbox, Leaflet, CesiumJS).
- Experience with video streaming technologies (WebRTC, HLS).
- Exposure to backend technologies (Node.js, Python) for full-stack collaboration.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and containerization (Docker).
