ABOUT THE TEAM:

It’s exciting times here at Tide, we are scaling and developing our product offering at a phenomenal rate making steps into our ambitious plans towards international expansion. We need someone to be proactive, take initiative and build out best in class financial reporting and control processes and procedures within the revenue space.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. This role involves supporting month-end closing activities, maintaining compliance with internal controls, preparing balance sheet substantiation, improvements within revenue reporting, accuracy of revenue reporting, new product reporting and documentation and supporting the year end statutory audit. The ideal candidate will have some experience working in a financial control role, minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience, hands-on experience with SAP or similar ERP systems, and be passionate about their career and eager to learn.

ABOUT THE ROLE: 
  • Assisting the monthly close process - capturing Revenue and Cost of Sales
  • Review the month end P&L and balance sheet for relevant line items, understand drivers of month on month movements, provide variance analysis and perform analytical review of the financials
  • Collaborate closely with the Business Areas, Financial Risk Management and FP&A to provide analysis of the revenue and cost of sales.
  • Maintaining best practice documentation of accounting policy and papers for material transactions,  revenue recognition and key business processes
  • Collaborate within the Financial Reporting & Control team to ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash flow and annual financial statements
  • Ensure proper books and records for all financial transactions
  • Improving balance sheet substantiation procedures and monthly reconciliations
  • Build robust financial control processes and strengthening internal control framework
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes, operations and systems
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and outsourced accounting service providers.
  • Collaborate with the project team and play a key role for your assigned work areas for the SAP general ledger system which has been recently implemented
 WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in fintech or financial services
  • Qualified accountant with 4+ years professional experience 
  • Proficiency in accounting software (SAP would be considered as a strong advantage) and proficiency using Microsoft Excel/GSheets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting professionally with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experienced in working with large data sets
  • Interested in working within fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Driven by a passion for creating change and delivering results
  • Familiar with accounting standard and disclosure requirements under UK GAAP and/or IFRS
