Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of MAQ Software group companies. This individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting, including financial reporting, vendor, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification, and extensive experience managing financial operations in a fast-paced environment.
The position supports growth of group companies (for profit and not for profit) and is a part of shared finance and accounting services team. We work with external Chartered Accountant firms to file Income Tax and GST returns. We file accurate and timely filings to avoid delays, penalties, and related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for decision-making.
- Vendor Management and Accounts Payable:
- Develop and manage the annual budget.
- Review vendor invoices for TDS, GST, and other applicable tax issues
- Pay vendor invoices
- Monitor actual performance against budget and forecasts and provide variance analysis.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Represent company with the government officials to clarify topics related to any assessments or scrutiny.
- Oversee internal controls and financial procedures to mitigate risk and prevent fraud.
- Prepare for and manage internal and external audits.
- Team Management:
- Lead, motivate, and develop the accounting team.
- Set performance goals and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team culture.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Use the latest software (Zoho) and Microsoft Office tools to simplify work.
- Streamline accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
- 8-10 years of experience in accounting and financial management.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
