Metro Rail News (metrorailnews.in), India's leading B2B media platform covering metro rail, railways, RRTS, and High-Speed Rail, is looking for an Editorial Intern to join our New Delhi editorial team. Published by Symbroj Media Pvt. Ltd., we serve India's top infrastructure professionals — metro corporation officials, railway policymakers, engineers, and urban planners.

This is a working internship, not a shadowing programme. From your first week, you will be writing, editing, and publishing real content under the guidance of our Managing Editor. Top performers will receive a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) for a full-time Assistant Editor role before the internship concludes.

You will write and publish daily news articles on metrorailnews.in covering metro project milestones, railway approvals, ministry announcements, tenders, and contract awards. You will rewrite press releases and government circulars into clean, factual news stories — stripped of PR language. Every month, you will research and draft one feature article on topics such as metro expansion, RRTS corridors, High-Speed Rail, or sustainable urban transport. You will assist in producing content for the monthly Metro Rail News print magazine, proofread and fact-check all content before publication, coordinate with the design team for layout, and assist in scheduling and conducting media interviews with industry leaders and government officials. You will also support Metro Rail News' presence on LinkedIn and other professional platforms, and attend and assist in covering InnoMetro 2026 — Asia's premier metro and railway exhibition at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi (May 2026).

Requirements

Final year student or recent graduate (2024–2025 batch) in Journalism, Mass Communication, English Literature, or a related field. Exceptional written English — clear, accurate, and grammatically tight. Ability to write direct headlines and strong news leads. Strong fact-checking instincts and attention to detail. Ability to meet daily publication deadlines without compromising quality. Working knowledge of WordPress or any CMS. Familiarity with MS Office and Google Docs. Basic understanding of SEO for digital content. Ability to coordinate clearly with the design team on layout requirements. Prior internship, college publication, or blog writing experience is an advantage but not mandatory. Interest in infrastructure, transport policy, or urban development is a plus.

Benefits
Stipend of ₹5,000–₹8,000 per month based on skills and performance. Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) for top performers — a formal full-time Assistant Editor offer at ₹2.40–3.60 LPA extended before the internship ends. Duration of 3 to 6 months, extendable based on performance. Real bylines in a nationally read B2B publication from your first week. Direct exposure to India's top metro officials, railway policymakers, and infrastructure leaders. One-on-one editorial mentorship from the Managing Editor. On-ground coverage of InnoMetro 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Formal internship certificate with performance summary. All approved travel and outdoor work expenses reimbursed on actual bill submission. Clear growth track for confirmed full-timers — Assistant Editor → Copy Editor → Senior Editor.
