As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate and Investment Banking Payments Technology, you will spearhead a specific technical domain and create significant impact within teams, technologies, and projects across various departments. Your profound understanding of software, applications, technical processes, and product management will be utilized to steer multiple complex projects and initiatives. As a primary decision maker for your teams, you will be a catalyst for innovation and solution delivery. Collaborating with the product teams, you will help define the product offerings for our premier clients, work with the enterprise architecture teams to design a robust technology framework, and finally, coordinate with multiple sprint teams to deliver the business capabilities.
Job responsibilities
- Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives
- Makes decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
- Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
- Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
- Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
- Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on large scale technology program concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- In-depth understanding of domain driven design with working experience on Micro services architecture
- Hands on experience on building cloud native technology solutions, Java, distributed computing, distributed caching (especially REDIS), messaging technology stack with experience in Kafka, Kafka streams.
- Prior experience in building low latency, highly available, high throughput technology products.
- Ability to work with senior stakeholders across job families and regions.
- Experience developing or leading cross-functional and cross regional teams of technologists.
- Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
- In-depth understanding of Agile delivery model.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Prior experience on payments business preferably liquidity and cash management
