Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Power BI Lead Developer cum Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of robust and scalable Power BI solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Power BI architecture, data modeling, and performance optimization and will be responsible for mentoring and guiding a team of developers. This role requires a strong leader who can translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure the delivery of high-quality dashboards and reports.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of complex Power BI dashboards and reports, ensuring they meet business requirements and are visually appealing and user-friendly.
- Architect and implement robust data models, including semantic modeling and data transformation using Power Query (M) and DAX.
- Optimize Power BI dashboards for performance, including query optimization, data caching, and report rendering.
- Develop and implement best practices for Power BI development, deployment, and maintenance.
- Mentor and guide junior Power BI developers, providing technical expertise and support.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Power BI features and trends.
- Manage the Power BI environment, including security, access control, and deployment.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Power BI related issues.
- Contribute to the overall data strategy of the organization.

Required Skills:
- 12+ years of experience in data warehousing, business intelligence, and reporting.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI development, including DAX, M, data modeling, and visualization.
- Strong in SQL
- Deep understanding of Power BI architecture, including gateways, datasets, and workspaces.
- Proven experience in performance tuning and optimization of Power BI dashboards.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
- Excellent SQL skills.
- Experience with data integration and ETL processes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to lead and mentor a team of developers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Skills (Good to Have):
- Experience with other data visualization tools like Tableau, SSRS, Sigma, etc.
- Experience with cloud platforms like Azure (specifically Azure Analysis Services, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics) or AWS.
- Experience with scripting languages like Python or PowerShell.
- Understanding of Big Data and Datawarehouse , ETL pipelines etc.
- Experience with data governance and security best practices.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
