DevOps Monitoring Engineer
What you can expect
As a ZPZCX DevOps monitoring engineer at Zoom, you will be responsible for building, deploying and supporting the monitoring infrastructure and tools. These tools + infrastructure help maintain health and desired uptime for critical Zoom products like Zoom Phone, Contact Center and other communication products. You will implement and maintain system reliability practices through monitoring, automation, and troubleshooting activities. Contributing to performance optimization, capacity planning, and incident response by following established procedures and guidelines.
About the Team
Engineering operations are the driving force behind the seamless functionality and continuous availability that define the platform's unparalleled user experience. The team monitors communication infrastructure that runs ZoomPhone, Zoom Contact Center and other Zoom communications products. By employing robust operational and monitoring strategies, they guarantee the stability and security of Zoom's infrastructure, allowing millions of users worldwide to connect effortlessly. As an independent engineer, you'll be expected to deliver medium-sized tasks with minimal supervision. Demonstrating self-leadership through clear documentation and proactive problem-solving, and actively participate in on-call rotations while maintaining operational excellence.
What we’re looking for
Demonstrate 3+ years of work experience as a monitoring and DevOps engineer with proven ability to deliver completed projects that create measurable business value.
Administer open-source (Prometheus, Grafana, etc) and vendor monitoring tools (Pingdom, Pagerduty, etc) with strong understanding of distributed systems and their failure modes.
Apply proficiency in GIT, Kubernetes and Docker, and hands-on experience deploying SaaS products using ArgoCD, Jenkins, and Helm Charts.
Have knowledge in automation scripting languages Linux/Bash, Python/Perl, and experience with configuration management tools like Terraform and Ansible.
Leverage AWS services (CloudWatch, Lambda, S3, EC2, DynamoDB) and understanding of incident management processes including alert response and root cause analysis.
Hold Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
