We are seeking a Database Developer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in MySQL, database design, and performance optimization. The ideal candidate will have expertise in schema design, query tuning, database migrations on cloud platforms (preferably AWS), ETL workflows, and maintaining secure, highly available production environments. You will collaborate with engineering and data teams to ensure scalable, reliable, and efficient database operations while supporting reporting, analytics, and incident resolution.
Requirements
- 5 years of hands-on experience as a Database Developer
- Create efficient database schemas following normalization and performance best practices.
- Design scalable database solutions for large datasets.
- Optimize joins, subqueries, execution plans, and aggregation queries.
- Strong production-level experience with MySQL.
- Proven success with database migrations, especially on cloud platforms like AWS.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve database issues (performance bottlenecks, data inconsistencies, connectivity challenges)
- Monitor and maintain multiple database environments, ensuring uptime, security, and integrity
- Optimize performance through indexing, query tuning, and configuration adjustments
- Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and root-cause resolutions
- Enforce database security, access control policies, and compliance with industry standards
- Support application development teams with schema design, stored procedures, and DB infrastructure recommendations
- Conduct incident response with timely RCA reports and customer-focused resolution strategies
- Build and maintain basic ETL/data movement workflows to support migrations, replication, and reporting needs (e.g., using Airflow, native MySQL tools, or scripted pipelines)
- Partner with data/analytics teams to ensure database schemas and pipelines support downstream reporting and analytics use cas
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline health (job failures, latency, data freshness) where pipelines interact with Postgres as a source or target.
