Build dashboards, KPI tracking systems, automated reports, and ad hoc analyses for collections, payments, risk, finance, and customer operations. Ensure data quality through audits, reconciliation, schema documentation, and lineage tracking. Collaborate with Engineering on ingestion pipelines, data warehouse design, ETL improvements, query optimization, and scalability. Communicate actionable insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical data analyst to build dashboards, reports, and analytics that drive business decisions across our operations. You'll work with SQL, BI tools, and cross-functional teams to deliver insights on collections efficiency, payment operations, and customer metrics.
Key Responsibilities
Core Analytics & Reporting
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports for Collections, Payments, Customer Onboarding, and Risk teams
- Create KPI tracking systems for daily/weekly/monthly reporting on collection status, payment success rates, and funnel metrics
- Develop automated reporting solutions to replace manual processes and reduce operational overhead
- Provide ad-hoc analysis to support business decisions and identify trends
Data Quality & Integration
- Own data quality across key systems (Collections, Payments, CRM, Payment Gateways)
- Audit and reconcile data across sources (Zoho, Payment Gateways, NBFC systems, EMI/Check processing)
- Identify and escalate data gaps and inconsistencies to Engineering
- Document data schemas, definitions, and data lineage for stakeholders
Analytics for Core Operations
- Support Collections team: build visibility into payment failure patterns, collection protest trends, and anomalies
- Support Risk/Credit team: analyze credit assessment gaps, onboarding funnel drop-offs, and customer lifecycle metrics
- Support Finance: reconcile vendor payments, identify discrepancies, and trace payment flows for audit trails
- Analyze Onboarding funnel performance and track improvement against targets
Data Infrastructure & Optimization
- Work with Engineering to improve data ingestion pipelines and reduce manual data maintenance
- Identify data scalability risks (e.g., cost drivers, query performance) and recommend optimizations
- Contribute to data warehouse/lake design decisions and ETL improvements
Mandatory Requirement (Critical)
- SQL Expertise: Write complex queries, optimize query performance, work with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar)
- BI proficiency — Tableau, Metabase, Data Studio, Power BI, or equivalent
- Data Storytelling: Create clear, actionable dashboards and communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Data Validation: Experience identifying data quality issues, performing audits, and reconciling data across systems
- Platforms: Zoho CRM, Payment gateways, internal dashboards
- Problem-solving mindset — break ambiguous questions into actionable analysis
Qualifications & Experience
- 4+ years of experience in data analysis, analytics engineering, or business intelligence
- Proven track record building dashboards and reports that drive business decisions
- Experience working directly with SQL databases in a production environment
Preferred Profile
- Experience in fintech, payments, lending, or collections: Experience with lending platforms, payment systems, or NBFC operations
- OR equivalent: Strong domain knowledge in B2B SaaS, e-commerce, or operations analytics where you've worked with complex financial workflows
- Proficiency in Python or R
- Familiarity with data warehousing (dbt, Airflow) or APIs
- Background in risk analytics or credit assessment
