F&O Developer (D365 Finance & Operations)
Purpose
Implement and support D365 F&O extensions so financial and operational changes can be delivered in-house instead of relying on costly partners.
What the role does
- Develops F&O customizations and extensions (X++, extensions, reports, integrations) following designs and standards from the US ERP lead/platform owner.
- Implements finance-heavy changes (GL, AP/AR, tax, credit, collections, banking) while staying as close to standard D365 patterns as possible.
- Works with QA Lead to ensure month-end and other critical F&O scenarios are covered by automated tests and regression packs.
- Helps diagnose and fix production incidents and performance issues in F&O, partnering with operations and Finance users.
- Acts as L2/L3 support for complex F&O issues, working across configuration, data, and code to restore service quickly.
Skills & experience
- 4+ years of D365 F&O/AX development.
- Familiar with recommended extension patterns (event handlers, no over-layering) and deployment via Azure DevOps.
- Comfortable reading functional specs for Finance processes and translating to technical design.
- Willing to operate across configuration, data fixes, and code, not just pure development.
Stabilize / Standardize / Supercharge
Builds internal F&O capability, shrinking vendor reliance and stabilizing core financial processes.
