Build and maintain automation tooling converting SOPs into automation routines. Optimize systems and cloud management across Windows and Linux at scale, manage public cloud services, networking, databases, container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, provide level-3 support runbooks, and participate in on-call rotations within an Agile, global environment.
Our client's Cloud Operations team is expanding and is looking to add a seasoned systems automation engineer with a broad cloud-automation skillset, to further build out their automation tooling. You would work across a portfolio of products, which gives wide exposure to different technologies, data sets and problems.
Day to day you will convert standard operating procedures into automation routines and optimise the daily efficiency of systems and cloud management. You will be the cornerstone for providing automation runbooks to the cloud engineering team — core systems management, advanced Windows server management at scale, and SaaS application platforms.
Why we're looking for you
- 4+ years of Microsoft and Linux platform management at scale within a SaaS deployment with 100+ servers
- 4+ years of production use of tier-1 public cloud services (Azure, AWS or GCP)
- 4+ years of production networking experience at scale
- 4+ years of production automation using configuration-management tools in Windows and Linux environments
- 4+ years of production use of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch
- 4 years of Python, SQL, Terraform, PowerShell or other scripting languages
- 2 years of production use of container scheduling engines (Mesos, Docker, Kubernetes)
- 2 years of production management of CI/CD solutions (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, ArgoCD)
- 3 years working in a ticketing system providing level-3 support (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)
