Edit raw single- and multi-camera footage into cinematic vertical reels, montages, and short brand films. Responsibilities include story-led editing, color grading, B-roll development, captions, kinetic typography, motion design, sound design, music selection, and rapid feedback iterations with the CEO and creative team. The role requires strong creative judgment, clear communication, and the ability to work across Pacific or European hours. Camera operation and shooting experience are valuable pluses.
Fireflies.ai builds AI meeting and work assistants used by millions of people. We have a growing archive of unedited footage — from a CNBC appearance and a cricket press conference at ETPL to an ISB talk, our company offsite in Thailand, and founder content shot on iPhone and FX3.
A lot of this footage is still waiting to be turned into something.
We're looking for a creative editor who can take this archive and turn it into reels, montages, and short films that feel cinematic, thoughtful, and story-led — not like typical corporate content.
This is a role for someone who enjoys finding the story within raw footage and has a strong creative point of view.
- Edit raw multi-camera and single-camera footage into 15–60 second vertical reels, along with occasional 60–180 second brand pieces
- Deliver content natively in 1080 × 1920 for vertical platforms
- Colour grade footage to create a consistent, film-like look. We shoot in log and care about natural, well-balanced skin tones
- Build engaging visual sequences using cutaways, inserts, screen captures, picture-in-picture, kinetic type, and other creative devices
- Maintain strong pacing and visual movement, knowing when to cut quickly and when to let a shot breathe
- Create captions and type treatments that feel intentional and belong to the piece, rather than relying on default presets
- Develop sound design and music choices that add to the story, rather than simply sitting underneath the voice
- Work closely with our CEO and creative team on direction, feedback, and quick iterations
- You think like a filmmaker, not just an editor. You have a point of view about why a shot belongs in a story, how it should feel, and what it should make the viewer experience.
- A portfolio or reel that demonstrates narrative, documentary, brand, or story-led editing
- Strong colour-grading skills in DaVinci Resolve, or Premiere with a Resolve workflow
- The ability to find and build B-roll sequences from unsorted footage and source material
- A strong instinct for sound design and an understanding of how much it can shape an edit
- Motion design or animation skills, with the judgement to use them when they genuinely add to the story
- Ability to work quickly, communicate clearly over Slack, and overlap with US Pacific or European working hours
Strong plus: You can operate a camera and shoot as well as edit. Experience creating founder, creator, SaaS, or technology brand content is especially valuable.
- Share your reel or portfolio, along with one line about the piece you're most proud of and why.
- Have a short conversation with our team about your experience and creative approach.
- Complete a paid test project. We'll share A-roll from one of our shoots, an unsorted B-roll folder from another, and some initial direction. You'll turn that into one cut, and we'll pay you regardless of the outcome.
- If there's a strong fit, we'll move towards an ongoing arrangement or full-time role.
Send us:
- Your reel or portfolio
- Your typical turnaround time for a 30-second vertical edit from raw footage
- One example where you handled the colour grade yourself, along with what you were trying to achieve visually
Please include a reel or portfolio with your application.
- You're a strong communicator and contribute positively to the team
- You take ownership and have an internal compass
- You value candid feedback and overcommunication
- You care about quality and design, while keeping things simple
- You measure your impact and look for ways to improve and automate
- You're comfortable working in a fast-moving environment and getting a little better every week
- You're customer-focused and care about the end result, not just the output
- You value fast, incremental ways of working
