Focus of the Role 
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Economics Business Analyst to support the Network Engineering and Planning team. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in telecommunications and network infrastructure. You will assist in data collection, organising, analysis, documentation, and operational planning activities that underpin the delivery and optimization of our international network service.

What You’ll Do 
 
  • You will be a part of commercial engineering team under the International Network Group within the Telstra International Limited.   
  • Support the development and maintenance of network cost models, including data gathering, validation, and reporting. 
  • Assist in the preparation of business cases and cost-benefit analyses for network investments and optimizations. 
  •  Collaborate with senior planners and engineers to collect monthly data, analyse the cost movement, update the performance metrics, produce monthly PowerPoint presentations for reporting and presentations 
  •  Maintain and update network planning documentation, including diagrams, spreadsheets, and dashboards in excel  
  • Help coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Domestic Fixed Engineering, Finance, Business planning etc) to ensure alignment on International Network initiatives. 
  • Help streamline the data collection for quarterly/biannual update on product and cable economics projects 
 
About You
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.  
  • 3-5 years of experience in an analytical role  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools – Excel, PowerPoint presentation, excel modeling, Analytical thinking 
  •  Knowledge of transport and IP Networks, and connectivity business related to subsea cable  (Desirable) 
  •  Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
