Purpose of the role
To provide data-led expert oversight and check and challenge on business and compliance matters to evidence that the organisation is operating in a compliance with Barclays legal, regulatory and ethical responsibilities.
Accountabilities
- Identification and assessment of compliance risks through thorough reviews of business activities, changes, processes, testing and systems to.
- Identification and investigation of potential market abuse, including but not limited to, Insider Dealing, Unlawful Disclosure, Market Manipulation or Anti-Competitive Conduct.
- Conduct investigation of compliance risk events or breaches. Oversight and check and challenge of corrective actions and preventative measures to avoid future occurrences.
- Implementation of compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and ensuring that the bank’s internal policies are aligned with international standards, including jurisdictional requirements.
- Collaboration with 1LOD, other relevant Compliance teams and legal, and relevant risk management functions to facilitate a comprehensive approach to compliance and risk management.
- Identification, investigation and oversight of potential money laundering, terrorist financing or other financial crime.

Join us as a BUK Business Oversight Compliance - AVP at Barclays, where you'll spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. You will work to strengthen Compliance’s oversight of our products and services, to ensure they deliver great customer outcomes. You will also support oversight of the customer impacts of a variety of technology and operations critical to the delivery of Barclays UK’s strategy.
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as experience with Business Oversight Compliance, as well as job-specific skillsets.
To be successful as a BUK Business Oversight Compliance - AVP, you should have experience with:
1.Design, maintenance and production of a monthly BOC insights and data pack for the vertical (i.e, Customer) to drive proactive oversight and challenge –Awareness of Product Governance key processes (NAPA and Product Review) and their related risks, Policies & Standards and controls.
2. To cover any topics/ issues which are data-led and lend themselves to a TRO-type approach. For example, including:

Complaints.
-
Issues Management and Controls reporting (feeding RCOMs and Controls committee).

BUK Products review.
3. Support core BUK Oversight Compliance (BOC) activity:
-
Lead coordination of OneRA throughout the end-to-end process.

Lead coordination of feedback on Quarterly Conduct and Reputational Risk Dashboards.
-
Supports completion of the Compliance role in Product Reviews, Consumer Duty / Fair Value Assessments.
4. To maintain Compliance Consumer Duty KI dashboard and drive usage through working across teams on key themes.
Basic/ Essential Qualifications:

Risk & Control management or oversight thereof
-
Data analytics, including the ability to present data clearly through high quality presentations and dashboards

The ability to identify and articulate simply the key messages from complex data for senior leaders
-
Confidence to challenge peers and senior stakeholders in a collaborative yet effective way
-
Attention to detail and a high rate of accuracy
-
The ability to learn new information quickly to become a true subject matter expert – with the skills to provide ongoing support and training to others on your topic.
Desirable skillsets/ good to have:
-
Knowledge of Product Governance i.e. importance of the assessment of risk in the design of product & service offerings to customers

Building relationships with colleagues and stakeholders from a distance – many of your direct team members will be UK based
-
Reacting quickly to incoming information, understanding materiality of issues or incidents and knowing when to escalate

Compliance experience, including managing adherence to regulations
-
A good understanding of Barclays UK and its structure.
