The Opportunity
The Associate Manager - Security Administration will serve as the team lead responsible for overseeing daily Identity and Access Management (IAM) operations, with a focus on manual provisioning and de-provisioning of application access across multiple Active Directory domains. This role requires hands-on expertise in Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange (on-prem and online), Azure Active Directory, and PowerShell scripting. In addition to technical responsibilities, this role will manage a team of analysts, provide guidance, oversee workload distribution, and ensure compliance with company policies and security standards. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with leadership skills to drive operational excellence and team development.
The role will operate in a collaborative team environment, working closely with peers, managers, and stakeholders across IT and business functions. Occasional off-hours support may be required for critical issues or system changes. This is a hybrid remote and office-based role in Sri Lanka, aligning with the local job requirement guidelines (Primary shift: [7:30 PM-3:30 AM SLST, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM CDT] with flexibility). Most work is performed Monday through Friday virtually using collaboration tools and video conferencing, and our team has occasional on-call support.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Oversight: Providing direction, guidance, and support to a team of analysts; overseeing daily IAM operations and ensuring adherence to policies and SLAs
User Provisioning/De-provisioning: Managing manual account lifecycle processes, including onboarding, role changes, and terminations across Active Directory and multiple application environments
Active Directory & Microsoft Exchange Administration: Overseeing and performing user/group management, mailbox provisioning, and permissions adjustments in on-premises and online exchange environments
Process Compliance & Documentation: Ensuring IAM processes comply with audit, SOX, and security standards; maintaining accurate records and documentation for reviews and reporting
Escalation & Issue Resolution: Serving as the escalation point for complex access issues; troubleshooting and resolving technical problems efficiently
Scripting & Automation Support: Leveraging PowerShell scripting for recurring tasks, reporting, and process improvements
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; or equivalent work experience
An advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator, CompTIA Security+)
8-10+ years of experience in IT Security, System Administration, or IAM
At least 3 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity
Strong background in Active Directory, Exchange (on-prem and online), and Azure Active Directory administration
Experience with PowerShell scripting
Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., SOX compliance)
Exposure to ITIL processes
Familiarity with audit and compliance frameworks
Certifications in IAM, IT Audit, or GRC (e.g., CISA, CISM, SailPoint Certified)
Proven leadership and team management skills
Strong understanding of IAM lifecycle processes
Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills
The ability to work independently in a remote environment
