India has a thriving aerospace industry. Civil aviation is largely driving this progress as the country sees substantial jumps in both domestic and international air travelers. In Delhi, these are some of the major names in aerospace, including global companies engineering commercial airplanes and startups focused on developing drone technology.

Aerospace Companies in Delhi to Know

BAE Systems is a defense, security and aerospace company that makes equipment for air, land and naval defense forces. Its combat vehicles, precision munitions and missile launchers are deployed around the world, and its roster includes more than 90,000 employees in 40 countries. The company’s presence in India focuses on defense manufacturing, with BAE Systems providing aircraft and training to support the country’s military forces. 

 

Boeing designs, develops, manufactures and maintains a global fleet of commercial and defense aircraft and technologies. Its products include airplanes, rotorcraft, rockets, helicopters and satellites. In support of its aircraft, the company also provides logistics, training, analytics and information services. Boeing fleets are in service in more than 150 countries around the world.

 

Tata Advanced Systems makes aerostructures as well as security and defense technology for military applications. It is the largest private aerospace manufacturer in India, where it performs industrial processes like metal machining and fabrication, craft assembly and engines manufacturing. The company’s components are present in many high-end Boeing and Airbus aircraft models 

 

Skye Air operates a drone delivery service. Its technology is designed for delivering urgent medical and ambulance supplies, postal and e-commerce packages and food products. Users place their orders through one of Skye Air’s partners and then a drone capable of carrying as much as 50 kilograms picks up the delivery and drops it off at the specified location.

 

VECROS makes “smart drones,” which are used for autonomous surveillance and can navigate around objects with 360 degrees of mobility. Using artificial intelligence, the company equips its drones with a range of automated functions. The VECROS Athera 4G drone is capable of avoiding power lines and other obstacles. It also brings data back to its human operator.
