Account overview
Jones Lang LaSalle is engaged to provide IFM services across HSBC’s 41m square foot portfolio spanning 45 countries in 3 Regions (Americas, APAC and EMEA). The HSBC contract represents JLL’s largest facility management assignment in terms of both square feet and fees earned.
The account has committed to a strategic vision that aims to enhance the current platforms and processes of the B.I Team; building on current and historical success to improve internal efficiency and lead to greater insights for the business. A critical aspect of this vision is to ensure the account’s data architecture is fit for purpose; enabling analysts to achieve agile dashboard development and ad hoc analysis and supporting business users to explore data through web edit, self-service, functionality within Tableau.
Working alongside a small team of substantive B.I. professionals, the role will leverage the existing tools and platforms available to the account, SQL, Alteryx, Databricks, Azure and Tableau, however a technology agnostic approach to the accounts data architecture is preferred to ensure ease of scale.
Role Purpose
The person in this role will be responsible for delivery of Data Engineering solutions that will be leveraged by the account as the foundation for production analytic solutions.
What this job involves:
- Understand business/client requirements: ensure the solutions & services provided are relevant and address the key business needs
- Manage and oversee projects conducted by the team
- Design, develop and deploy BI solutions
- Sourcing data from internal MS SQL Server databases and external sources, and leveraging ETL tools when needed
- Setup and support of data governance and data integration processes
- Advise on optimal BI/analytics strategy and its execution
- Perform analyses leveraging analytical techniques and big data environments / capabilities where needed
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders and manage their expectations
- Develop own expertise and share it with the team members to help grow the team
- Support more junior team members in day to day work

- Bachelor or master degree - BI, computer science, econometrics, operations research or statistics preferred, or equivalent working experience
- Minimum 1 year past work experience as a data engineer, BI, business or data analyst required
- Fluent English
- Business analysis, consulting/advisory and/or project or client management experience
- Working experience in BI tools (for example Tableau)
- Querying databases (SQL)
- Experience in ETL tools (e.g. Alteryx, Azure Data Factory) is desired
- Working experience in analytical toolkit (e.g. SPSS, SAS, R, Python) would be a plus
- Strong analytical mindset with an ability to interpret, visualize and tell the story behind the data
- Focus on providing relevant solutions to the clients’ challenges, which drive productivity, profitability, client satisfaction or other important business metrics
- Able to deliver high-quality work in a timely manner, also under time pressure
- A team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to effectively communicate both with technical experts and management
- Professional experience and passion to further excel in broadly understood BI, including: business & client understanding, business analysis, data visualization, databases, data integration, ETL, big data
